Each person that we audition will be asked to read a short monologue. We have chose a short monologue from a horror film as using horror will give us an idea of how each auditionee will be when acting in out trailer as this is the genre.
The monologue is from the film American Psycho:
Patrick: There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in
common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil,
all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have
now surpassed. My pain in constant and sharp and I do not hope for a
better world for anyone. In fact I want my pain to be inflicted on
others. I want no one to escape.
This is a male monologue, although it will work from both a male and female perspective as it doesn't indicate within it whether it is male or female.
