Before we finished for the Christmas holidays I was unable to borrow a camera from college as they were all being used, therefore, I will have to take them when I go back to college.
I have organised when and where the photos will be taken with the person, and I am in the middle of getting my props ready. The props I will need are:
A mobile phone, which I already have
Duct tape, this will cost about £5.00
Rope, which cost £10-£15 (which is more than I expected), although we will be using rope in the trailer, so my group will probably split the cost.
I am going to take the photos in the woods, as the daylight will give me a clearer photo and the scenery will work very well.

Research and Planning: Codes and Conventions of a Film Poster

Title
Every film poster has a title. This film is 'The Dark Knight', the title has it's own font relating to the film and includes part of the logo for the film.
Slugline
The slugline for this film is 'Welcome to a world without rules'. This is the tagline that goes with the film and is a catchy line that relates to it. On this poster it is placed at the top of the page which is quite unusual as the slugline is often placed with the title.
Steel Tongs
The steel tongs writing gives all of the details of the production of the film, for example: the production companies, editors and everyone involved. In the order of the information the director always goes last.
Picture
The picture is obviously the main aspect on a film poster. It shows a lot about the film, gives an idea of the plot, shows the genre and hints to the narrative. This poster shows the main character of the film, and the logo burning on a building in the background shows that this is the type of thing involved in the film. The shot type of the main character makes him look really powerful as it is a low angle shot, showing that he is a powerful character.
Actors/Casting
Some of the main actors are usually shown on the film poster. The big stars will be put on to help advertise the film and make it appeal to the audience more if they know that big stars are in the film.
Release Date
Not all film posters include the release date, but they often do to advertise the film and give information about when it is coming out, the audience will then be aware of the date and will be more likely to see it at the cinemas.
Distribution/Production Company Logos
These are included on a film poster to show who made the film.

Research and Planning: Codes and Conventions of a Film Magazine

Title/Masthead
The title of this magazine is 'Total Film'. This doesn't relate to the film featured on the cover as it is the same on every issue to keep the house style.
Main Story
The main story is the film that is featured on that issue. This issue is 'Alice in Wonderland' and features Johnny Depp as he is a star in this film.
Main Photo
The main photo on this magazine is of Johnny Depp as his character in 'Alice in Wonderland'. He is one of the main stars of the film which is why he is on the cover to promote the film.
Banners
The banners show what other stories and things are in the magazine. For example, this one has 'FREE GIANT IRON MAN POSTER', showing another feature of the magazine.
Coverlines
The coverlines show the other stories that are featured in the magazine. It advertises to the audience/customer so they know what's inside when they buy a magazine.
Positioning Statement
Although it isn't shown on this issue, the positioning statement for this magazine is 'The Modern Guide to Movies'. It is a tagline that comes with the magazine so they're associated with eachother.
Bar Code/Price/Issue Number
The bar code is always on a magazine and the issue number and price are placed next to it. The issue number shows what number the magazine is and keeps track of all the issues.

Research and Planning: Auditions
Audition 2: This auditionee was trying out for the part of a female friend. This person is right for this role as she has the right characteristics, and is the right age. We will be using this person to play this character.
Audition 3: This person was auditioning for the role of the second female friend. We won't be using this person as we felt that she seems more like a main 'heroic' character, rather than being a friend who has to be girly and scared.
Audition 4: This person was auditioning for the role of the male friend. We will be using this person as well because he fits the characteristics and he is the right age etc. and would work well for this role.
Audition 5: This person was auditioning for the role of the main character 'Josh Thompson'. I don't feel that this person was right for this role as he is older than the rest of the friends that we will be using. I also feel that he doesn't have the right look for this role.
Audition 6: This person also auditioned for the main role of 'Josh Thompson'. He fits the role better than the other auditionee as he is the right age. Although, we still have more people to audition for this role.

Research and Planning: Parts of a Film Poster

I'm going to look at this Twilight Film poster and pick apart the aspects that I will need to use.
Title.
Slug Line.
Main Photos.
Release Date.
Production Company Logos.
Steel Tongs Font.
Research and Planning: Auditions
Each person that we audition will be asked to read a short monologue. We have chose a short monologue from a horror film as using horror will give us an idea of how each auditionee will be when acting in out trailer as this is the genre.
The monologue is from the film American Psycho:
Patrick: There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain in constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone. In fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape.
This is a male monologue, although it will work from both a male and female perspective as it doesn't indicate within it whether it is male or female.

Research and Planning: Team Meeting
My team and I have spoken to each other and we all agree that the work is being produced at a very slow rate, and each of us are have difficulty with our own section of making the film. We have decided that we will still all have responsibility for each thing, but we will all input more to each other and help each other out.

Research and Planning: Film Poster Font Ideas
These are some fonts that I think that could possibly use for my film poster. I think my favourite font is the top one, as it's the clearest one to read, and as it is fading away slightly it fits in with the theme of the film.

Research and Planning: Social Network Feedback
As we are all sharing the responsibility of sound, we wanted some more feedback, so Amy posted a tweet on twitter asking for some feedback, and this is what we got. This is very helpful as we know what people want to see/hear and what they think will be effective. We will use to idea of slow paced music at the beginning, with faster, tension building music when it gets to the montage.
Research and Planning: Weather Forecast
I have looked up the weather forecast for this weekend to see if is suitable for filming. Saturday and Sunday are rainy so it will be difficult to film on these days. There will probably be some dry patches so we will try and film when we can. Monday looks as if it will be okay for filming, so we will try and get most of it dine then.

Research and Planning: Make up
The female characters in my photos for my magazine and poster will just have simple, natural looking make up. As they are college students, they would not have any extravagant make up, so a look like this would work well and look natural.
The male friend won't be wearing any make up as he is a college student as well, therefore he will just look like a normal, everyday person.
My main male character (the missing boy) will be covered in blood. As I can't find any appropriate pictures to use I can't post one of here.
